
Deputy Commissioner launches pilot program for proper waste management
Hoshiarpur- Today Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain launched a pilot program for proper waste management in the city, she personally inspected the dump near DAV College and appealed to the people to ensure that they keep wet and dry waste separately in their homes.

On the occasion of the launch of the pilot program with the officials of the Municipal Corporation, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that the district administration and the corporation are taking waste management very seriously and the pilot program started today will continue for the next 2 months, so that proper waste management can be fully implemented.
She said that the cooperation of the people is very important for this work, through which the corporation employees will keep the waste separately and take it to the dump, so that proper management can be done. She said that the district administration will dig pits at large places like Central Jail, Police Line, Deputy Commissioner's residence etc. to make compost from leaves of trees etc. and other waste.
The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to the big institutions, commercial properties, organizations etc. to dig pits to make compost from the huge amount of waste collected at their respective offices, commercial places and ensure its proper use, so that the garbage present in the dumps in the city can be disposed of properly.
He also asked the corporation officials to ensure regular review of this pilot program. After starting the program near DAV College, the Deputy Commissioner also talked to the corporation employees at some places about the garbage being brought from the houses.
