Authorities did not have any other information available about the incident. Officials also said that the names of the dead pilots were not immediately released. Organizers later identified the two pilots in a statement as Nick Massey and Chris Rushing, CNN reported.
The association's board of directors and T-6 class president said they were working to notify relatives of the pilots killed in the crash during the final day of the National Championship Air Races in Reno. Officials said that no one else was injured.
Both pilots were efficient in their work. In the T-6 class Gold winner Massey piloted the Six-Cat and Rushing flew the Baron's Revenge. The families of both pilots have been notified and support services are on the scene to respond to the tragedy.
