This time the board has showered gold and silver for Ganpati Puja.
This idol of Lord Ganesha is made of 69 kg gold and 336 kg silver. A representative of the board said that they have also insured Rs 360.45 crore, which includes Rs 290 crore for people visiting the pandal, Rs 39 crore for jewelery and Rs 20 crore for public liability.
The representative said that we welcome all Ganesha devotees here. This year we are going to celebrate the 69th Ganesh Utsav. A 36 kg silver and 250 gram gold pendant has also been made in this Ganesha idol. GSB Seva Mandal in Mumbai organizes Ganapati every year in a similar way. This year Ganesh Chaturthi falls on September 19 and the 10-day festival will last till September 28.
