The scheme can be amended. He said that the aim of the welfare state is also to extend the benefits of the schemes to the poor and needy. Rules and laws are made for the good of the public. He also said that the officials should speed up the pace of developmental projects and give the benefits of public welfare schemes to the eligible people on time.
The Union Minister was chairing the meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee in Panipat today. The progress of the schemes included in the agenda of the meeting was reviewed. He directed the concerned officials to take steps to resolve every issue as soon as possible.
The Union Minister sought information from the BSNL official in the meeting, what support BSNL is providing to the general public compared to other private companies, what are the schemes of BSNL. Not being satisfied with the official's response, the Union Minister directed that the information should be brought in full detail in the next meeting.
The Union Minister said that the government has made a provision of Rs. 4500 per acre for direct sowing of paddy so that the farmers do not suffer any loss, for this the government's intention is to save water as much as possible. He also asked the members present in the meeting to publicize this scheme as much as possible.
The Union Minister suggested that the unemployed youth can open VITA booths for self-employment, for this they will have to look for land for the booth at key places.
Mr. Manohar Lal said that there are some families who are very poor and they are eligible for BPL, many vehicles have been mistakenly entered in their family identity card. Action should be taken against such people. He directed to investigate this and take action against the guilty and enter the names of the eligible families in the BPL list.
He said that he directed to seriously investigate the houses being built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and asked the committee members to go to the ground level and survey it, if any eligible person does not get the benefit of it, then get his name added and the name of the one who is taking the benefit of the scheme in the wrong way should be removed.
The Union Minister, while reviewing the work done under the Deendayal Upadhyay Anthondaya Yojana, said that such a system should be made from which it can be known what work the self-help groups do, which product they manufacture, what certification is done for the finished product. He directed the Deputy Commissioner to set up a common market in Panipat to sell the manufactured products.
