Grenade attack on police post: NIA files chargesheet against three.

New Delhi, June 15 - The National Investigation Agency on Saturday charged three accused in the 2024 case related to the grenade attack on a police post in Punjab's SBS Nagar district. They are said to be associated with the banned outfit Khalistan Zindabad Force.

Yugpreet Singh alias Yuvi Nihang, Jaskaran Singh alias Shah and Harjot Singh alias Jyot Hundal, all residents of Rahon village in SBS Nagar. They have been charged under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, Explosive Substances Act and other relevant sections.
The NIA has initiated an investigation against KZF chief and Designated Terrorist (DIT) Ranjit Singh alias Neeta, operative Jagjit Singh Lahiri alias Jagga alias Jagga Miyanpur alias Hari Singh (currently in the UK), and other unidentified terror operatives.
The NIA, which took over the case from Punjab Police in March this year, has so far found in its investigation that Jagga recruited Yugpreet Singh through an acquaintance in the UK.
Jagga, along with other KZF militants and operatives, radicalised Yugpreet and was in touch with him through encrypted messaging applications. Jagga also provided terror funds worth over Rs 4.36 lakh to Yugpreet through a complex chain of Canada-based entities, which have been identified and investigated.
Yugpreet in turn recruited two other chargesheeted accused and the three attacked the police post Asron on the intervening night of December 1 and 2, 2024. The three accused were provided with grenades by their foreign handlers in early November 2024.
