Hoshiarpur- Under the campaign of Mai Bharat Hoshiarpur “Ek Rukh Maa De Naam”, a speech competition and Bahurang Kalamanch Hoshiarpur organized a tree planting event under the chairmanship of Ramesh Kumar, President of Sat Shri Akal Doaba at Shri Guru Har Rai Sahib College for Women, Chabbewal, in which Principal Dr. Manjit Kaur, Film Director Ashok Puri and representatives of the Forest Range Office specially participated.
Hoshiarpur- Under the campaign of Mai Bharat Hoshiarpur “Ek Rukh Maa De Naam”, a speech competition and Bahurang Kalamanch Hoshiarpur organized a tree planting event under the chairmanship of Ramesh Kumar, President of Sat Shri Akal Doaba at Shri Guru Har Rai Sahib College for Women, Chabbewal, in which Principal Dr. Manjit Kaur, Film Director Ashok Puri and representatives of the Forest Range Office specially participated.
The stage of the “Ek Rukh Maa De Naam” speech competition was conducted by Prof. Smt. Neelam Sharma. College Principal Dr. Manjit Kaur welcomed the team of Forest Range Office and Mai Bharat Hoshiarpur and thanked them for choosing their college to create awareness among the children about the habit of planting trees. In the speech competition, Harmanpreet Kaur, a student of the fifth semester of B.A., came first and Manisha of the same class came second. Harleen, a student of the third semester of B.Com, came third. On this occasion, artist Ashok Puri moved all the teachers and students with an open composition titled "Maa Biyar Hai" on the theme "Ek Rukh Maa De Naam". Prof. Harinder Kaur and Prof. Mandeep Kaur played the role of judges for the speech competition. On this occasion, Sat Shri Akal Doaba President Ramesh Kumar thanked the staff and students of the college and presented his views. After this, the students who came first, second and third in the competition were honored with trophies.
After this, contributing to this campaign being run by Bahurang Kalamanch, bottle brush, tahli, neem and other trees were planted in the college yard. After this, Bahurang Kalamanch Hoshiarpur honored Principal Dr. Manjit Kaur by giving her a doshala.
