100-day campaign to find active cases of TB

Kharar, June 2: Under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain and under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer Dr. Preet Mohan Singh Khurana, training was conducted for all Community Health Officers, ASHA facilitators and ASHA workers of the block at Primary Health Center Gharuan regarding the nationwide 100-day campaign to find active cases against TB.

Kharar, June 2: Under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain and under the leadership of Senior Medical Officer Dr. Preet Mohan Singh Khurana, training was conducted for all Community Health Officers, ASHA facilitators and ASHA workers of the block at Primary Health Center Gharuan regarding the nationwide 100-day campaign to find active cases against TB.
This campaign is being run under the National TB (Tuberculosis) Eradication Program (NTEP).
Senior Medical Officer Dr. Preet Mohan Singh Khurana and Block Extension Educator Gautam Rishi said that the purpose of this training is to identify patients by conducting surveys in high-risk areas and organizing special camps, so that they can be treated on time and the goal of TB-free India can be achieved. This campaign will run from June 2025 to March 2026, in which an awareness campaign is also being run through the mass media and information wing.
Senior Treatment Supervisor Rajiv Sharma said that teams of Ayushman Arogya Kendras of the Health Department from district and block levels to urban slum areas and village levels will conduct surveys and collect data of suspected patients and it will be updated on the department's portal. After which the sputum tests of the patients will be sent to the health center and identified.
Social service organization WHP District Program Manager Rahul Sharma and District Mentor Nurse Khushpreet Kaur explained about the identification of TB in children. They said that children from birth to 14 years, who are not gaining weight, lack of appetite, lumps on the body, cough and fever for more than two weeks, etc. have symptoms of TB. RBSK teams will identify such children in schools and Anganwadi centers.
Dr. Saroj, RBSK teams, Community Health Officer, ASHA facilitator and ASHA worker were present on the occasion of the training.
