Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh takes oath as Haryana Governor

Chandigarh, July 21 - The newly appointed Governor of Haryana, Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh, took oath as the 19th Governor of the state on Monday. In a ceremony held at the Haryana Raj Bhavan, Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Mr. Sheel Nagu administered the oath of office and allegiance to Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh.

Chandigarh, July 21 - The newly appointed Governor of Haryana, Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh, took oath as the 19th Governor of the state on Monday. In a ceremony held at the Haryana Raj Bhavan, Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Mr. Sheel Nagu administered the oath of office and allegiance to Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh.
Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh, a renowned educationist and experienced politician, was the Chairman of the Department of Political Science in a reputed college in Kolkata for nearly four decades. He has also worked on UGC and ICSSR projects, along with active contributions to academic research and political deliberations, and several of his articles have been published in leading publications.
Punjab Governor Mr. Gulab Chand Kataria, Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini were present at the swearing-in ceremony. Apart from these, the Governor's wife Mrs. Mitra Ghosh, the Chief Minister's wife Mrs. Suman Saini and members of the Governor's family were also present.
The ceremony was attended by the Speaker of the Haryana Legislative Assembly Mr. Harvinder Kalyan, Cabinet Ministers Mr. Krishan Lal Panwar, Mr. Mahipal Dhanda, Dr. Arvind Sharma, Mr. Shyam Singh Rana, Mr. Ranbir Gangwa, Mr. Krishan Kumar Bedi, Mrs. Shruti Chaudhary, Ministers of State Mr. Rajesh Nagar and Mr. Gaurav Gautam, Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi, Secretary to the Governor Mr. Atul Dwivedi, MLAs and Vice Chancellors of Universities and senior officials.
Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh personally met the dignitaries who came to the oath-taking ceremony and accepted their congratulations. During this, the Special Detachment of Haryana Armed Police provided the Guard of Honour to the Governor.
