Hoshiarpur- Under the state-wide campaign being run by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for the elimination of drug abuse, drug de-addiction yatras were taken out in all the assembly constituencies of Hoshiarpur district on Monday. Local MLAs, administrative officials, social organizations, youth and citizens participated enthusiastically in these yatras.
An anti-drug awareness rally was taken out in Baghpur, Sator and Ghasipur under the leadership of Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh in Sham Chaurasi Assembly constituency. In Chabbewal, people were made aware against drugs in Thakkarwal, Rahli and Dhyana under the leadership of Lok Sabha member Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal and MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar. In Garhshankar, people were made aware against drugs in Mazara Dingriya under the leadership of Deputy Speaker Jai Krishna Singh Raudi.
In Hoshiarpur, a rally was taken out in village Satyal under the leadership of MLA Brahma Shankar Jimpa. In Udmud Tanda Assembly constituency, MLA Jasvir Singh Raja Gill launched a campaign in Fatehpur, Bhattlan and Bhattiwal. In Mukerian Assembly constituency, Assembly constituency in-charge Prof. GS Multani took out a rally in Fattuwal, Jalala and Tangralian. In their address, public representatives reiterated the government's commitment against drug abuse. They said that this campaign is not just a program but a pledge to make Punjab drug-free.
Social organizations and youth also appreciated this initiative and called it an important step towards keeping the society healthy and safe. Youth participated enthusiastically in this awareness campaign, which strengthened the movement. Citizens also took the responsibility of spreading awareness against drug abuse and supported the efforts of the administration.
