Nawanshahr- Dr. Surendra Kumar Sharma and his wife retired Deputy Director Madam Soma Sharma resident of Mohalla Bedia Banga who had vowed to donate their body after death. Both of them were handed over identity cards today by Doaba Sewa Samiti General Secretary Social Worker Ratan Kumar Jain and Finance Secretary of Tarksheel Society Punjab's Nawanshahr unit Sukhwinder Singh Goga.
On this occasion, social worker Ratan Kumar Jain said that instead of cremating the body after death, if it is donated to a medical college, it will prove to be very beneficial for the students studying medicine.
Donating the body after death is a great and noble work. On this occasion, Doaba Sewa Samiti's Ratan Kumar Jain gave information about eye donation, body donation and the service work being done by the committee. On this occasion, General Secretary of Doaba Sewa Samiti Ratan Kumar said that people who want to donate their bodies after death as per their wish.
Their forms are filled and sent to PIMS Medical College and Hospital, Jalandhar or Government Medical College, Amritsar! Their ID cards are made from there. He said that today 136-137 body donors have been given identity cards. He thanked those people who have contributed to social service by donating their bodies. On this occasion, body donors Mr. Surendra Sharma and Soma Sharma said that they have filled this form to contribute to social service.
On this occasion, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh Goga of Tarksheel Society said that Mr. Surendra Sharma and his wife Soma Sharma are very old members of Tarksheel Society.
