Chabbewal Assembly by-election: Aam Aadmi Party candidate Ishank Kumar wins

Hoshiarpur - The counting of votes for the by-election of Assembly constituency 044-Chabbewal on November 20 was completed here today in a proper manner. In which Aam Aadmi Party candidate Dr. Ishank Kumar emerged victorious by securing the highest number of 51,904 votes.

Hoshiarpur - The counting of votes for the by-election of Assembly constituency 044-Chabbewal on November 20 was completed here today in a proper manner. In which Aam Aadmi Party candidate Dr. Ishank Kumar emerged victorious by securing the highest number of 51,904 votes. The counting of votes for a total of 15 rounds began at 8 am at the local Rayat-Bahra Group of Institute under tight security arrangements.
After the counting was completed, Election Observer IAS Officer Tapas Kumar Bagchi, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal and Returning Officer Rahul Chaba, appointed by the Election Commission, handed over the certificate to the winning candidate Dr. Ishank Kumar. Returning Officer Rahul Chaba said that Dr. Ishank Kumar got a total of 51,904 votes, Indian National Congress candidate Ranjit Kumar got 23,214 votes, and Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Sohan Singh Thandal got 8692 votes.
Similarly, Samaj Bhalai Morcha candidate Davinder Kumar Saroya got 307 votes, Independent candidate Davinder Singh Ghera got 226 votes, Independent candidate Rohit Kumar Tinku got 176 votes and NOTA got 884 votes. It is worth mentioning that during the voting of Chabbewal assembly constituency held on November 20, 53.43 percent votes were cast.
