
The holy birth anniversary of Satguru Ravidas Maharaj Ji was celebrated
Nawanshahr- On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji, a grand Nagar Kirtan was taken out from the Shri Guru Ravidas Temple of the city on Wednesday by the Shri Guru Ravidas Temple Managing Committee and Shri Guru Ravidas Naujavan Sabha. The faith of the devotees participating in the Nagar Kirtan was so strong that devotees wearing handkerchiefs and turbans were seen everywhere.
Nawanshahr- On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji, a grand Nagar Kirtan was taken out from the Shri Guru Ravidas Temple of the city on Wednesday by the Shri Guru Ravidas Temple Managing Committee and Shri Guru Ravidas Naujavan Sabha. In the Nagar Kirtan, band parties, Ranjit Gatka Akhara Party, Kirtani groups, Dandiya groups, young men wearing Bhangra, young women performing aarti in their hands were walking with devotion while singing the glory of Guru Ravidas Ji. Along with this, the youth dancing to the tunes of DJ, Seerat Ghori of Nai Abadi, the statue of Guru Ji made by sculptor Charanjit living near DAV School, Meera Bai singing with drums and beautiful tableaux decorated on the trolley were also the center of attraction.
Members of all the social service organizations of the city participated in the nearly one and a half kilometer long Nagar Kirtan. The Nagar Kirtan, which was organized under the guidance of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and under the supervision of Baba Sham Das of Mahalan Gehlan, was started by Rajesh Kumar Bali in Ravidas Nagar with the flag hoisting ceremony.
The Nagar Kirtan was inaugurated by social worker Sukhdev Kumar, Palki Sahib was inaugurated by social worker Honorable Master Des Raj Norad, the chariot was inaugurated by Principal Praveen Kaur. Comrade Baldev Singh was walking in the front with a flag in his hands. Behind him, members of the Seva Dal of Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar were walking while cleaning, holding the Aarti plate and burning incense with guggal.
After that the Palki and then the entire Sangat were walking. The Nagar Kirtan passed through Ravidas Nagar, Valmiki Nagar, Geeta Bhawan Road, Kothi Road, Matharu Road, Banga Road, Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, Garhshanker Road, Shri Tahli Sahib, Ambedkar Chowk, Chandigarh Chowk, Nehru Gate, Railway Road and ended back at Shri Guru Ravidas Temple.
