The road constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana from Kharodi to Hakumatpur-Khair Achharwal-Nagdipur-Makhsoospur via Badhan Phagwara is still full of flaws even after a year.
13 February Hoshiarpur- There is no such thing as road safety on the roads. When this infrastructure is also audited to ensure traffic safety on the roads and lakhs of rupees are spent like water for these works, it seems that everything is done only on paper.
13 February Hoshiarpur- There is no such thing as road safety on the roads. When this infrastructure is also audited to ensure traffic safety on the roads and lakhs of rupees are spent like water for these works, it seems that everything is done only on paper.
In this regard, Labour Party President Jai Gopal Dhiman and Narendra Singh said that it has been only 1 year since the road was built from Kharodi to Vihidin via Hakumatpur-Khair Achharwal-Nagdipur-Makhsoospur to Vihidin Phagwara, but the electricity supply poles and road poles standing on the sides of that road have not been removed yet. He said that there are many flaws in the structure of this road, which always cause accidents.
The safety of the road has been under question since the beginning. There are big vegetable shops on both sides of the road, which pose a threat to traffic safety. Near village Hakumatpur, electricity supply poles are standing inside the white strip of the road - despite the department knowing about them, they have been left like that instead of removing them - a terrible accident can happen due to them anytime.
A deep pit has been made on the side of the road to start drinking water supply - an accident can happen anytime. The road widening work at Lakhihan Maud has been left incomplete and there is no safe place for the road users. There are trees on the side of the road. There is an electricity pole near Nagdipur and electricity supply meters are installed on it and that pole is in a bad condition due to a vehicle hitting it. Yes.
Further ahead, waves have appeared in the concrete portion. Thus all the safety walls of the road have disappeared and have been left incomplete. The road has started to crumble from the sides. When the contractor has to maintain the road continuously and for this, a total of 54 lakh 71 thousand rupees have to be spent for 5 years so that the road can remain healthy. Dhiman said that after the road is built, it is audited whether the road fulfills the prescribed conditions as per the road safety rules or not and the road safety signs installed on it are also audited and lakhs of rupees are spent for these works. He said that all the paperwork is done with the connivance of the government and the responsible officers also present everything correctly in the report, which creates a good image of the government. But the common people have to pay the price of these mistakes in the form of death.
While it is the duty of the government to make its officers responsible instead of waiting for people's complaints. There is huge corruption in these road safety rules, the money which should have been spent on road safety is falling prey to corruption. Dhiman has written a letter to the central government asking how much has been spent. A serious investigation should be conducted by the audit team and the defects of the road should be removed.
