
District Task Force conducted checks at Banga to prevent child labor
Nawanshahr/Banga - As per the guidelines issued by Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman and Director Social Security and Women and Child Development Department Punjab, a campaign was launched today to stop child labor in Banga block of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district. Under this, the District Task Force formed to stop child labor conducted checks at various places in Banga.

Under this, the District Task Force formed to stop child labor conducted checks at various places in Banga.
During this checking conducted under the guidance of District Program Officer Jagroop Singh and District Child Protection Officer Kanchan Arora, the team did not find any child involved in child labor and child begging. The team informed that as a result of continuous checking being done in various blocks of the district, no child was found doing labor during the checking today.
District Child Protection Officer Kanchan Arora, who was present on the occasion, informed that the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights is continuously conducting checks in the entire Punjab under the Pan India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign against Child Labor. So that migrants from other states can be prevented from begging in Punjab and the future of the children engaged in begging can be made brighter by connecting them with education.
The District Child Protection Officer appealed to the general public that if any child below the age of 18 is seen begging, then his information should be given to the District Child Protection Unit or Child Helpline number 1098. Rajinder Kaur, who was present on the occasion, informed the Child Protection Officer that a person who makes children from zero to 18 years of age beg; Under the Juvenile Justice Act, a sentence of up to two years and a fine of Rs 1 lakh can be imposed against the person.
The checking team led by the District Child Protection Officer included Rajinder Kaur Child Protection Officer from the District Child Protection Unit, Santosh DEO, Harvinder Singh Labor Inspector, Surinder Singh from the Education Department, Chhinderpal from the District Social Security Office, Darbara Singh from the Health Department, Ravinder Kumar from the Municipal Council, Surjit Singh and Neelam Rani from the Police Department.
