National Youth Day celebrated at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences

SAS Nagar, January 12, 2025: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences celebrated National Youth Day with great enthusiasm paying tribute to the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The event held at the auditorium of the Institute saw active participation of faculty, students and distinguished guests.

SAS Nagar, January 12, 2025: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences celebrated National Youth Day with great enthusiasm paying tribute to the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. The event held at the auditorium of the Institute saw active participation of faculty, students and distinguished guests.
The function began with an engaging address by Dr. Ananya Ray, Assistant Professor, AIIMS Mohali, who shared the inspiring life history of Swami Vivekananda. She highlighted his extraordinary journey, his vision for youth empowerment and his message of universal brotherhood and service to humanity.
Next, Director Principal Dr. Bhavneet Bharti spoke about the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy in today’s world. He urged the youth to imbibe his teachings of love, empathy and unity and encouraged them to make meaningful contributions to society.
On the occasion of National Youth Day, the institute launched a series of community initiatives aimed at promoting social responsibility and service. Announcing the event, Dr Bhavneet Bharti said, “We are proud to launch an initiative in which our students actively participate in community service. This reflects our commitment to combine education with social impact.” The initiative was inaugurated by AIIMS Mohali faculty members Dr Jyoti Rohilla and Dr Priyanka. They emphasized the importance of student involvement in community work. As part of the program, students will volunteer two hours every Saturday and Sunday to perform community service.
The event also included a Shark Tank-style competition, in which the young batch of 2024 presented innovative solutions to address social and health challenges.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and inspired the audience to embrace Swami Vivekananda’s ideals of selfless service, unity, and youth-driven innovation.
