Deputy Commissioner felicitated medal winners of National Pythian Games

Una, 21 December- An award ceremony was organized for the medal winners of Himachal Pradesh state who topped in the First National Cultural Pythian Games 2024 at DRDA Hall on Saturday under the chairmanship of Jatin Lal, President of Himachal Pradesh Pythian Council and Additional General Secretary of Pythian Council India and Deputy Commissioner Una.

During the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner felicitated 50 medal winning children who topped in various competitions of Pythian Games by giving them shawls. He congratulated the families of the medal winners for this achievement. During this, the parents of the winning players thanked the Deputy Commissioner for encouraging the children.
Jatin Lal said that in this competition, the winning children have brought laurels to Una district as well as the state of Himachal not only in the country but also abroad, which is a matter of great pride. Jatin Lal said that the National Pythian Games provided a great opportunity for the youth of Himachal to showcase their talent at the national level. He appealed to the youth to join sports as much as possible. Sports develop mental development along with physical development.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the National Pythian Games were organized from 12 to 15 December at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula, in which 130 players from Una district as well as Himachal participated. Apart from this, participants from 12 countries also participated in this competition.
He said that in the Pythian Games, music, dance, singing, poetry, drawing and painting, traditional games musical chair, roller musical chair, sack race, mallakhamb, yoga, arm wrestling, tug of war and tennis volleyball, martial arts Gatka, Taekwondo, Karate, Bagatur and Muaythai and revival of ancient game Gadayaddha, e-sports, 50-ball cricket games were organized.
On this occasion, Credit Planning Officer Sanjay Sankhyan, District Sports Officer Uttam Dod, HP Yoga Association President Acharya Mahendra Sharma, Athletic Coach Rakesh Chaudhary, Karata Coach Ajay Thakur, Neeraj Gautam, Kundan Lal, Bal Krishna Soni and others were present.
