Hoshiarpur- Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that Aadhaar is a unique identity document issued by the Government of India. Which provides many benefits to the citizens. Aadhaar card can be used as proof of identity, proof of address and proof of age while applying for any government service.
Aadhaar is the basis of India's digital transformation and enhances efficiency, transparency and inclusion in various sectors. The Deputy Commissioner said that according to the report received from UIDAI New Delhi, 47269 children below the age of 5 years of Hoshiarpur district have not got Aadhaar cards. Apart from this, mandatory biometric updates of 129160 children between the ages of 5 and 15 years are pending.
He also said that a large number of citizens of the district neither have their mobile numbers linked to Aadhaar cards nor biometric updates. Due to which they face problems while availing any facility. He appealed to all the citizens of the district to go to any service center near them and get their and their children's Aadhaar updated. So that in the future, in case of non-update of Aadhaar, any kind of problem can be avoided for doing any kind of office work.
District IT Manager Karamjit Singh Ji said that Aadhaar card service is available in all the service centers located in Hoshiarpur district. Keeping in mind the public interest, 4 Aadhaar counters are available in the service center located at the Mini Secretariat. Apart from this, Aadhaar card facility is available on Sundays in the service centers located at the SDM office Mukerian, Garhshankar, Tehsil Tanda, Dasuha and Mini Secretariat. Apart from this, Aadhaar camps are also being organized in various government schools of the district.
