
This year, Dussehra celebrations in the Tricity, including Chandigarh, were thrilling. Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria was the chief guest.
Chandigarh: In Chandigarh, 100-foot-tall effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnath were burned at approximately 75 locations across the city. According to reports, these effigies cost ?50 lakh to build. The tallest effigy of Ravana was burned in Sector 46.

Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria was the chief guest at the Dussehra celebrations, organized by the Shri Sanatan Dharma Dussehra Committee, Sector 46.
A 101-foot Ravana, a 95-foot Meghnad, and a 90-foot Kumbhakarna were created. This Dussehra celebration included Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, along with Chandigarh DC Nishant Yadav and Chief Engineer C.B. Ojha. Home Secretary Mandeep Brar's wife took his place as he had some work to do.
Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria, speaking on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, said, "On Dussehra, we should all pledge to eliminate evil from our lives and spread the message of goodness, brotherhood, and love in society."
The "Chandigarh Ratna Award" is given annually by the Shri Sanatan Dharma Dussehra Committee, Sector 46, for meritorious work. This year, Sandeep Bansal, a doctor at PGI, and Monica Sharma, Principal of SD Public School, Sector 32, were presented the "Chandigarh Ratna Award" by Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria.
Furthermore, effigies were burned with special fireworks. The procession, organized by the Ramlila Committee, passed through the streets of Sector 46 and Sector 45, ending back at the Dussehra Ground in Sector 46. Various kirtan groups sang devotional songs all along the route, while "Sone ki Lanka" and special fireworks added to the spectacle.
