The Chief Minister said that the Samriddhi Mantra of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji with the cooperation has given a new direction to the cooperative movement. The establishment of the Ministry of Cooperation in the year 2021 is the result of this thinking, and today the National Cooperation Policy 2025 is an important result of this.
Chief Minister Mr. Naib Singh Saini was delivering his address on the occasion of the inauguration of the second phase of Sabar Dairy (Amul) Plant by the Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah in Rohtak today.
He said that Amul is not just a brand of milk and dairy products, but also the strength of the cooperative movement of India. This modern plant in Rohtak will meet the demand for milk products in Delhi-NCR and North India and will give new energy to the rural economy of Haryana.
He said that this plant was started in January 2015 and now an investment of Rs 325 crore has been made in its expansion. After this expansion, this plant has become the largest plant in the country for the production of curd, lassi and yoghurt. He said that this will not only provide better prices to the farmers but also create new employment opportunities for thousands of youth.
Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that the state government is providing loans to farmers at low interest through cooperative institutions. High quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides are being made available by HAFED on time. Sugar Federation is giving sugarcane farmers a price of Rs 400 per quintal and six cooperative sugar mills are being operated.
He said that Haryana is at the third position in milk production in the country, where per capita milk availability is 1105 grams per day and annual production has reached 122 lakh 20 thousand tonnes. The benefit of Accident Insurance Scheme is being given to producers through Cooperative Milk Committees since 2015. Its insurance amount has been increased to Rs 10 lakh in the financial year 2023-24.
He said that daughters of member families of cooperative committees are being given Rs 1100 on marriage, and under the scholarship scheme, children who score more than 80% marks in 10th and 12th are being given incentive amount ranging from Rs 2100 to Rs 5100.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister appealed to all of us to come together and make the cooperative movement stronger and contribute to the construction of a prosperous, developed Haryana. He expressed special gratitude to the Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah and said that the inauguration of this dairy plant with his efforts is an inspiring moment for all of us.
On this occasion, Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh, Union Minister of State for Cooperation Shri Krishan Pal Gujjar, Haryana Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma, BJP State President Mohan Lal Kaushik, Gujarat Minister of State for Cooperation Bhikhu Parmar, MP Dharambir Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Ramchandra Jangra, Chairman of Saber Dairy Shamilbhai B. Patel, Chairman of Amul Ashokbhai Chaudhary along with other honorable and administrative officers were present.
