Una, July 30- Under Section 124 of Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 and Rule 9 of Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Election) Rules, 1994, partial amendment in the delimitation of Ward-5 Dhundla and Ward-8 Chatara of District Council Una and the corrigendum has been finally published on Wednesday. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal.
After the declaration of Nagar Panchayat Bangana, village Rit Satrukha of Gram Panchayat Hatli Kesru was kept out of the District Council delimitation. But due to non-issuance of the final notification of the Urban Development Department, this village has been included in Panchayat Hatli Kesru as before.
After this amendment, Zila Parishad Ward-5 Dhundla will now include Gram Panchayats Dhundla, Arlu Khas, Karmali, Piplu, Sukadiyal, Chamiyadi, Sihana, Hatli Kesru, Jasana, Dohgi, Malangad, Dhatol, Lathiani, Tanoh, Dhiungli and Budhan. According to the 2011 census, the total population of these Panchayats is 25,007 and these Panchayats come under Panchayat Samiti Bangana.
At the same time, due to some part of Gram Panchayat Tabba being included in Municipal Corporation Una and the higher population of Gram Panchayat Chatara, the delimitation of Zila Parishad Ward-8 has been amended and its name has been changed to Ward-8 Chatara.
Now this ward includes Gram Panchayats Tabba, Chatara, Basoli, Madanpur, Lamlaihari, Dangoli, Samurkalan, Barnoh, Janakpur, Abada Barana and Sunehra. Their total population is 18,514 (Census 2011) and these panchayats come under Panchayat Samiti Una.
It is worth mentioning that there are a total of 17 constituencies in Zila Parishad Una, which includes three wards each in Panchayat Samiti Amb, Bangana and Gagret and four wards each in Haroli and Una.
