Hoshiarpur: During a meeting held on behalf of Rotary Eye Bank and Cornea Transplant Society under the chairmanship of Principal and eminent social worker Sanjeev Arora, Mrs. Trishna Kumari, a resident of Best Enclave, has set an example by filling the pledge form to donate eyes along with her. On the first anniversary of her husband, her family including Shivani and Surbhi (daughter-in-law), Navdeep Kumar (son-in-law), Himani (daughter-in-law) also attended.
On this occasion, Principal Sanjeev Arora said that the eyes donated by one person bring light to the dark lives of two people. But still, the number of patients suffering from corneal blindness in the country is high and the number of people who donate eyes after death is very low. Therefore, we should all take a pledge to donate our eyes after death so that those who are living a dark life and cannot see can also see the world created by God.
Let us participate in this charitable work by filling the pledge form to donate our eyes, so that even after leaving this world, our eyes can see this world through someone else. Arora said that those who fill the pledge form are also honored by the society so that other people can also get inspired.
On this occasion, Chairman J.B. Wahl told the audience that the expenses of eye examination, surgery of corneal blindness sufferers, eye implants, medicines etc. are borne by the society. In which the donors have a special contribution. He further said that so far more than 4100 people have been provided with light and this process will continue with the support of eye donors.
On this occasion, the head mother of the family, Trishna Kumari, said that her husband wanted his entire family to be eye donors.
Therefore, she fulfilled his wish by filling the pledge form to donate eyes along with her family on the first anniversary of her husband and she said that even after the death of her husband on this day last year, we had donated his eyes through the Rotary Eye Bank.
She appealed to the people to come forward to support this noble cause so that light can be brought into someone's dark life. J.B. Wahl, Madan Lal Mahajan, Vijay Arora, Veena Chopra etc. were present on this occasion.
