Connecting youth with sports is a priority of the Punjab government: Tarunpreet Singh Saund

Nabha/Patiala, November 16 - The sixth Nabha Kabaddi Cup got off to a grand start today at the sports stadium of the Government Ripudaman College in the state city of Nabha. The Kabaddi Cup, being organized by the Azad Welfare and Sports Club in collaboration with NRIs and local residents, was inaugurated by Punjab Rural Development and Panchayat, Labour, Industries and Commerce Minister Tarunpreet Singh Saund.

The Kabaddi Cup, being organized by the Azad Welfare and Sports Club in collaboration with NRIs and local residents, was inaugurated by Punjab Rural Development and Panchayat, Labour, Industries and Commerce Minister Tarunpreet Singh Saund.
Speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Saund lauded the efforts of the Azad Welfare and Sports Club and especially the club's president and District Planning Committee chairman Jassi Sohian Wal and said that the Punjab government's goal is also to connect the youth with sports, for which the government has started 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan'. He said that such efforts provide an opportunity to the youth to showcase their sports talent.
Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Investment Promotion and Hospitality Tarunpreet Singh Saund said that Kabaddi is a game associated with the culture of our villages. Every Punjabi has a different attachment to this game and Kabaddi also gives a different identity to our youth at the international level. He appreciated Chairman Jassi Sohian Wala for the efforts being made for the past six years to connect the youth with the playgrounds.
Chairman of the District Planning Committee Jassi Sohian Wala thanked the audience and said that to fulfill the commitment taken by Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann to make the state a colorful Punjab, it is necessary to connect the youth with the playgrounds and this Kabaddi Cup is an effort to connect the youth with the playgrounds. On this occasion, Club President and Chairman of the District Planning Board Patiala Jassi Sohian Wala honored Minister Tarunpreet Singh Saund.
Jassi Sohian Wala said that after the prize distribution tomorrow, famous singers Beit Baljit, Geeta Zaildar, Angrez Ali, Deep Dhillon-Jasmine Jassi, Lakhi Ghuman, Chamkaur Khatra and comedian Kulwant Sekhon will entertain the audience. He appealed to the residents of the area along with their families to participate in these matches as much as possible.
