Organized a special program on National Legal Services Day

Hoshiarpur - District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Dilbag Singh Johal led by CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Raj Pal Rawal organized a special program on National Legal Services Day at Vardhman Spinning Mill, Ltd. Hoshiarpur. Which was celebrated this year as well like every year.

Hoshiarpur - District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Dilbag Singh Johal led by CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Raj Pal Rawal organized a special program on National Legal Services Day at Vardhman Spinning Mill, Ltd. Hoshiarpur. Which was celebrated this year as well like every year.
The main objective of this day is to create awareness about 'Access to Justice for All: Empowering Marginalized People through Legal Awareness', Legal Services Authority Act 1987. To provide free legal services to poor people under this act, the authority provides eight categories, namely women, migrants, SC/ST, destitute, flood/earthquake victims, children below 18 years of age, disabled and every person whose annual income is less than Rs 3 lakh. They are given free legal aid at district level and sub-division level. On this occasion, Chief Legal Aid Department Council Hoshiarpur Vishal Kumar gave detailed information to the workers about NALSA (Legal Services to Workers in Unorganized Sector) Scheme, 2015.
During this program, Deputy Chief of Legal Aid Discharge Skills, Rupika Thakur gave detailed information about Punjab Victim Compensation Scheme 2017 and NALSA's Compensation Scheme 2018 for First Victim/Victims of Sexual Harassment/Other Crimes. It was also told that the authority has already decided the cases through compromise through Lok Adalats, Mediation and Conciliation Center.
 And permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services) offices have been established at the district level. In this Lok Adalat, the cases which are not going on in the courts like telephone, electricity, water, bank cases, insurance companies cases etc., the applicant can register the case for free by giving direct application related to his case. On this occasion, CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority also joined online in the Legal Services Day celebrated by NALSA.
Head HR & Admin Rishi Sharma, DS Kharab, GM, Sr. BP (R&D) Anu Handa, BP Accounts Arun Sood, Sr. Manager Anju Gangwani, Sr. BP (Production) Pradeep Mangala and staff were specially present.
