On the occasion of the flag hoisting by Hardev Arshi and others, committee president Ajmer Singh was also present with them; general secretary Prithipal Singh Madimega; vice-president Kulwant Singh Sandhu; assistant secretary Charanji Lal Kangniwal; cultural wing convenor Amolak Singh; and all the committee members who had come to the fair. On this occasion, slogans like "Down with Imperialism! Down with Communal Fashi Halla! Gadri Babayan Da Paigam, Jari Rahna Hai Sangram!" kept reverberating. Flowers were showered on the Gadri flag.
Addressing the guests, committee general secretary Prithipal Singh Madimega said that the Deshbhakti Smarak belongs to the people. This fair is also by the people for the people. He said that the fair is adding new facilities every year.
Committee member Hardev Arshi mentioned the original program, objectives and unfinished work of the Ghadar Party and said that today's fair is dedicated to the mass movements fighting against corporate and communal fascist attacks only to realize their dreams. He said that all democratic forces need to fight unitedly against imperialism and communalism.
Committee President Ajmer Singh said in his speech that the program of Gadar Desh Bhagat is more relevant today. He said that the economic and communal fascist attack intensifying day by day attracts our attention. We need to wake up.
In the 33rd fair, a musical opera, Mela Ki Kahinda, written by Amolak Singh and directed by Satpal Banga (Patiala), was presented by about 100 artists, which captivated the audience for once. People kept watching and clapping repeatedly for half an hour.
Amolak Singh, the stage director of this session and writer of the flag song, praised the hard work of the artist boys and girls involved in the workshop and the support of their families and honored the role of their families.
World famous scholar Arundhati Roy started her speech by paying homage to the struggling land of Punjab. She said that even though there is a farmers' movement in Delhi, the voice of Punjab played an exemplary role in thwarting the attempt to put me in jail by applying UAPA.

In this session, Gurpinder Singh and his colleagues from Khalsa School Garhdiwal, apart from the folk music group Bhadaur (Master Ram Kumar) added colour to the event with their songs.
At 4 pm, a discussion was held on agriculture, water and environmental crisis under the chairmanship of committee president Ajmer Singh in the Gadri Baba Jwala Singh auditorium. The discussion began with a poem by Kuldeep Walia. Committee members Jagroop, Kulwant Singh Sandhu, Seetal Singh Sangha, Raminder Patiala, Vijay Bombeli and Dr. Parminder were present in this discussion.
