Phagwara - A shameful incident came to light at Balalon village near Phagwara when the villagers accused an elderly man of raping a 12/13 year old minor girl. A large number of villagers reached Sadar Phagwara police station demanding action against the accused. According to the villagers, the victim girl has been admitted to Civil Hospital Phagwara and her condition is said to be critical.
The limit was reached when the girl's family members and villagers accused some persons of pressuring them to resign. According to the information received, the accused, who is about 70 years old, was doing wrong things for a long time by taking the girl to his fields or to some desolate place. On receiving the information, Constituency MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal and Constituency In-charge of Aam Aadmi Party Joginder Singh Mann also reached the Sadar Police Station and assured the girl's family of justice. Till the time of writing the medical and police investigation of the minor victim girl was going on.
