
The Health Department honored doctors for their commendable work on the occasion of National Doctor's Day
Hoshiarpur - The National Doctor's Day was celebrated by the Health Department today in the Civil Surgeon's office. Meanwhile, Civil Surgeon Dr. Balwinder Kumar Damana with the support of Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Harbans Kaur and Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Kamlesh Kumari gave special honor to the doctors who rendered commendable services.

On this occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Balvinder Kumar said that doctors are true companions of the society. Doctors always serve the society. National Doctor's Day in India is celebrated on 01 July every year to recognize and thank the role, services and contribution of doctors towards national service.
The day was started in the year 1991 to pay homage to the great Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, whose birth and death anniversary falls on 01 July. This is a great opportunity to thank and honor the doctors who have made a difference in our lives. Dr. Harbans Kaur said that today is a special day to recognize and appreciate the hard work and dedication of doctors and healthcare professionals. Doctors not only treat and cure patients, but also educate and prepare future generations of doctors in the country.
He said that during the Kovid-19 epidemic, doctors played a leading role in saving the lives of patients, many of them have also lost their lives. On this occasion, Dr. Raj Kumar, Psychiatrist from Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur and Dr. Amandeep Singh, Medical Specialist, Pediatrician Dr. Gurdeep Singh from SDH Mukerian, Surgeon Dr. Parmahans from SDH Garhshankar, Ophthalmologist Dr. Karnell from SDH Dasuha, Dr. Singh and Dental Surgeon Dr. Varun Nair from CHC Mand Mander was honored with a letter of commendation.
