Una, November 21 - A special campaign is being organized in all five assembly constituencies of Una district under the Special Revision of Voter Lists-2025 program. This campaign will run from 10 am to 5 pm on November 23 and 24 at all polling stations in the district. District Election Officer Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal informed that during this time the names of all eligible citizens and left out voters will be included in the voter list. Along with this, citizens who have completed 18 years of age or are going to complete 18 years of age by January 1, 2025, can also take advantage of this opportunity and register their names in the voter list.
The Deputy Commissioner said that during these two days, voters can go to their respective polling stations to confirm their names as well as make other necessary corrections. For this, they can fill the necessary forms (Form-6, 7 and 8), through which it will be possible to add names to the voter list, make corrections, remove names of ineligible or dead persons or transfer their names from one polling station to another. If a voter is unable to read his name in the list, then the concerned Booth Level Officer (BLO) will read out his name in front of everyone, so that the process is smooth and transparent for every voter. He said that for the convenience of students of the age group of 18 years who are not yet registered in the voter list, BLO help desks will be set up on November 26 in government and private educational institutions such as colleges, ITI and nursing institutes.
Jatin Lal also informed that booth level agents of recognized political parties will also play an important role in this campaign. Booth level agents can meet with BLOs and give suggestions and applications for adding the names of eligible citizens left out in the voter list and removing the names of ineligible persons. This process will be conducted as per the guidelines of the Election Commission, so that the voter list can be made error-free and updated.
Jatin Lal stressed that not only having a voter ID card ensures the right to vote, but it is also necessary for the citizen to have his name registered in the voter list. He appealed to all the citizens to visit their nearest polling station on 23rd and 24th November and check their name in the voter list available with the BLO. If the name of any eligible citizen is not in the list, he can get his name registered in the voter list by filling the prescribed Form-6. In this way, every citizen will be able to ensure the use of his right to vote and participate in the democratic process.
