Patiala, June 10 - Like every year, this year too, a state level program was organized by Satpal Bairagi, President, Bairagi Maha Mandal, Patiala, at Gurdwara Sahib, Chapad, on the occasion of Martyrdom Day of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur and Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. Famous social worker and great philanthropist Dr. SP Singh Oberoi also participated in this event.
Chairman of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur International Foundation Krishna Kumar Bawa, President of Bairagi Maha Mandal Punjab Ravinder Nandi, Patron International Foundation retired IPS Iqbal Singh Gill and main organizers of the program Satpal Bairagi and Jagdish Bawa honored Dr. Oberoi with Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Award. At this time Jassa Singh Sandhu, Dr. Daljit Singh Gill, Iqbal Singh Gill, Jaswant Singh Chhapa, Varinder Singh, eminent writer and thinker Dr. Swaraj Singh were also honored.
Speaking during this, Mr. Bawa said that it is our duty to celebrate the martyrdom day of the great warrior General Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Ji and the king of martyrs Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji. He said that the martyrdom of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Ji, 740 Singh and his son Baba Ajay Singh (aged four years) is unique. He said that 11 statues of Baba Ajay Singh Ji will be installed under the patronage of Dr. SP Singh Oberoi.
He said that the ocean of divine knowledge Sri Guru Granth Sahib Granth is now being prepared in two thousand books in Punjabi under the patronage of Dr. Oberoi. Many other famous personalities were also present on this occasion.
