Nawanshahr- District Magistrate, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Rajesh Dhiman, exercising the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023, has issued orders that no person / institution in the district will construct any gate on government / panchayat land.
If any such memorial gate is to be built, then approval will have to be taken from the District Magistrate Office only after taking permission from the concerned department. In the orders issued, the District Magistrate has said that it has come to his notice that in the villages, people build memorial gates on government / panchayat land in memory of any of their close relatives without any permission and approval from any competent department.
In this way, wherever there is illegal occupation of government land, there is always a danger of the gates constructed in this way falling, which also poses a risk of loss of life and property. Therefore, it is necessary to ban the construction of such gates in the district. These orders will remain in force till March 31, 2025.
