The Longing for Pilgrimage Received a Journey Barinder Kumar Goyal

Lehragaga/Sangrur, September 12:- With a longing in their eyes to visit holy places and joy on their faces at the prospect of the journey, devotees from Annadana and Mahan Singh Wala villages of Lehragaga constituency today departed to pay obeisance at Sri Amritsar Sahib under the ‘Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme’. Cabinet Minister Shri Barinder Kumar Goyal flagged off two buses from Annadana and a bus carrying devotees from Mahan Singh Wala, extending his best wishes to the pilgrims for a pleasant and auspicious journey.
Shri Goyal said that this scheme of the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is not merely a facility for undertaking a pilgrimage, but also a means of fulfilling the long-standing religious aspirations of those people who were unable to visit holy places due to old age or financial constraints.
He said that besides providing comfortable travel to devotees in AC buses, the Punjab Government is also bearing the expenses for their accommodation and meals. Cabinet Minister Barinder Goyal said that keeping the spirit of service and devotion in mind, the Bhagwant Singh Mann government has expanded the ‘Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Yojana’, under which devotees are now travelling to holy places such as Shri Khatu Shyam-Salasar Balaji, Haridwar-Rishikesh and Mathura Ji-Vrindavan Dham.
While seeing off the devotees for the pilgrimage, the Cabinet Minister said, “My prayer is that the devotees return from the holy land with blessings for the prosperity, peace and harmony of Punjab and the continued progress of every family.” The pilgrims, especially the elderly, who were departing for the journey expressed their happiness and thanked Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and the Punjab Government. They said that the well-organised arrangements made by the government had made it easier for them to fulfil their desire to visit the holy places.
