Positive discussions on various issues to be held at BRICS Summit Modi

New Delhi:- Delhi has been placed on high alert with tight security arrangements and temporary traffic restrictions as India prepares to host the world’s top leaders at Bharat Mandapam over the weekend for the BRICS Summit.
The national capital is under a strong security cordon for the two-day 18th BRICS Summit beginning Saturday, with around 15,000 Delhi Police personnel, 200 companies of paramilitary forces and more than 500 CCTV cameras deployed across the city.
The Delhi Traffic Police has clarified that there will be no shutdown in the city, but commuters should expect temporary stoppages, diversions and restrictions on routes being used by VVIP convoys.
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Delhi on Friday morning for the summit, while China has confirmed the participation of President Xi Jinping, marking his first visit to India in seven years. Other leaders attending the summit include Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, and WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, among others.
Officials said around 4,800 traffic personnel have been deployed for arrangements related to the summit. The Delhi Metro will continue to operate, although temporary restrictions may be imposed at some stations or entry and exit gates if required for security reasons.
