Iqbal Singh is the Guardian of Sikh Philosophy
Mahilpur- Sikhism is the modern and scientific religion of the world, in which conflicts of castes, classes, and religions have been eliminated. By including the bani (teachings) of great souls from all castes and religions in the Guru Granth Sahib by Guru Arjan Dev Ji, this teaching has been made common to all four varnas (social classes).
We all know that Punjabis who roam the world in Sikh form are at the forefront in serving during every calamity. With their bone-breaking hard work, they are raising their flag high in all fields. Similarly, Sikhs have the greatest contribution in promoting mutual brotherhood and moral values in society.
Wherever Punjabis have gone in the world, they have not only maintained their unique identity but also guarded human values. In the same way, Iqbal Singh from Hoshiarpur district has become the guardian of Sikh philosophy. He has learned the manner of molding his life according to Sikhism. He has not only learned this manner but has also worked to connect those around him with this Sikh form and to live according to the rehat maryada (code of conduct).
As the head granthi at the Gurudwara Point in California and as a preacher in various Guru Ghars, he has performed splendid services and received numerous honors and respects. Where he provides new paths to this society by becoming a true and pure Sikh, there he also wields his pen like a scalpel so that evils can be eradicated from society. In every creation of his, there is a challenge. There is a message and a target of truth.
Sardar Iqbal Singh started the struggle of his life from his ancestral village Roopowal in Hoshiarpur district. He obtained primary education from Garhdiwala and, being a tall, sturdy young man, joined the army.
After serving in the army for 15 years, he settled his residence in the new grain market in Hoshiarpur city. Since his daughters Charanjeet Kaur, wife of Joginder Singh, and Neelam Singh, wife of Amandeep Singh, reside in America, he settled there with his life companion Davinder Kaur.
The love and affection of his daughters bestowed even greater heights upon him. These two daughters, raised like sons, and their sons-in-law are today making splendid strides on the land of America. Just as their parents did in India and America.
Helping the needy and enhancing everyone's work has become their objective. They stand not only as supports for their parents but are also active for the betterment of society. This family, which showers love, considers respecting everyone as its achievement.
While wielding his pen like a scalpel, Iqbal Singh challenges the contractors of religion. He tells them to make their policies clean and clear. In reality, Sikh philosophy teaches the lesson of humanity, and for those from whom human values have been eliminated, he is active day and night.
Doing honest labor, fighting and standing for truth and justice has become the goal of his life. While enriching the congregation with his valuable thoughts, he not only advises living according to the Sikh rehat maryada but also explains the philosophy of becoming laborious to make life proper.
By remaining simple and becoming the bearer of high thoughts, inspiration can be given to this society. He says that hypocrites have led us astray, whereas the Guru Sahibs had attached us to the Guru Granth Sahib. Everyone who does true and pure labor is sympathetic to all.
This personality, engaged in the promotion and propagation of human qualities, has also received numerous honors and respects. This person, who does good for all, has also faced various kinds of hardships and adversities in life. He has also clashed with the oppressors.
By following the teachings given by the Guru Sahibs, he has achieved victory in every field. He says that those people who attach themselves to the Guru Granth Sahib and live according to the Guru's sayings achieve success in every field.
Therefore, we should never lose human values from within ourselves. This society can become beautiful and proper only if we have humanity within us. The first book created by him, 'Pyaar Di Saanjh', has received abundant response from readers. The second book, 'Pehli Parvaaz', is one that opens the closed doors and windows of the readers' minds and brains.
*Book Pehli Parvaaz
In today's society, the state of equanimity has been eliminated from humans. The purpose of life has become solely money. Higher values have been eroded from the nation and community. The objective of the book 'Pehli Parvaaz' is to save the society that is decaying from every aspect.
The poems included in the book give the message to the readers to engage in altruistic works and to guard human values. S. Iqbal Singh, even after reaching the ninth decade of his life, is engaged in selfless works to save human values. His purpose is to mold this life according to the teachings of the Guru Sahibs.
To fulfill this, he inspires every section of society to introspect within themselves. By reading the book 'Pehli Parvaaz', one can enjoy all the flavors and colors of life. He has boldly exposed the deeds of religious, social, and political leaders. While keeping his character high and pure, he has also explained the journey from virtual love to real love.
Due to the stepmotherly treatment being done to Punjab by the governments, his heart cried out, and he engaged in poetic creation. By using Urdu words, he has made his poetry even more flavorful and proud. That is why the colors of these poems seem unique and like cups filled with essences.
For the elevation of Punjab, Punjabi, and Punjabiyat, he has wielded his pen like a scalpel. The book 'Pehli Parvaaz', while giving the message of high character, high thoughts, and high communication, connects us with the Supreme Being.
