Inspector Gurinderjit Singh Nagra transferred to Police Lines Factfinding inquiry ordered

Hoshiarpur: The Punjab Police has taken cognizance of certain news reports and social media posts mentioning the alleged naming of Inspector Gurinderjit Singh Nagra, the current Station House Officer (SHO) of Tanda Police Station, District Hoshiarpur. According to these reports, this naming is linked to an extortion investigation being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States under "Operation Hardball."
Pending the verification of facts, Inspector Gurinderjit Singh Nagra has been transferred from Tanda Police Station to the Hoshiarpur Police Lines with immediate effect.
Additionally, a formal fact-finding inquiry into this matter has been ordered by the DIG, Jalandhar Range, and the investigation has been entrusted to the SP (Investigation) of Jalandhar Rural, an IPS officer. The investigating officer has been directed to examine all facts related to the allegations and submit a detailed report as soon as possible.
Based on the findings of the inquiry, further action, if necessary, will be taken strictly in accordance with the law.
