Indian citizen among 12 killed in latest Russian strikes Zelensky

Reuters NationVolodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that 12 people, including an Indian citizen, have been killed in the latest Russian strikes on Ukraine. Several cities in eastern Ukraine were hit by drones and ballistic missiles, damaging residential buildings and civilian infrastructure.
Zelensky said in a social media post that guided aerial bombs and drone strikes have been continuing in the city of Odessa and surrounding areas since Monday evening, leaving thousands of families without electricity. “A total of 12 people have been killed, including an Indian citizen,” he said. Ukrainian President Volodymyr added, “I express my deepest condolences to those who have lost their family members and loved ones.”
Zelensky said dozens of people were also injured in the attacks. The attacks took place in Kyiv, Odessa, Kherson, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy and Dnipro regions. Seven people died during the attack on the railway depot in Kyiv.
Zelensky said that a five-story residential building in Boryspil was damaged, from which 50 people were evacuated, while four people died and 13 were injured in the city. He said that about 350 personnel had been deployed for rescue and relief operations in Kyiv and its surrounding areas alone.
“A large number of jet-powered drones and ballistic missiles were used in the attack,” Zelensky said, causing heavy damage to residential buildings and civilian infrastructure. He said Russian guided aerial bombing and drone strikes in Odessa and surrounding areas were continuing.
According to Zelensky, the border with Romania and export infrastructure were also “deliberately damaged.” Volodymyr blamed Russia for deliberately targeting civilians and called for increased air defense support for Ukraine.
