First Aid CPR Training Conducted at Central Ayurvedic Research Centre

Patiala, September 12:- On the occasion of International First Aid, CPR and Care for the Injured Day, first aid and CPR training was imparted to doctors, nurses and other staff members at the Central Institute of Ayurvedic Centre, Patiala, Government of India, by Mr. Kaka Ram Verma, Chief Trainer of the First Aid Safety Health Awareness Mission and retired Training Officer of the Red Cross.
The senior doctor in-charge, while expressing gratitude, said that the Government of India has now made it necessary for students, teachers, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, employees, as well as doctors, nurses and other staff members to undergo training in disaster management, civil defence, first aid and fire safety. Such training is essential for rescuing people and saving them from death during any natural, seasonal or man-made disaster, domestic and institutional incidents, and in cases of sudden unconsciousness, heart-related emergencies, epileptic seizures, shock attacks, cardiac arrest, internal bleeding, head injuries, as well as situations involving gases, smoke, water and debris.
Dr. Tomar, SMO, while thanking Mr. Verma, said that in Punjab there is no social reformer and subject expert above Mr. Kaka Ram Verma who continues to provide training single-handedly on all these subjects.
Mr. Kaka Ram Verma said that during sudden accidents, it is essential to have trained first aiders, fire safety, disaster management and civil defence volunteers ready in every home, family, business establishment and institution to prevent deaths of victims.
