Karnal, July 14: A shocking incident has come to light from Karnal district. In Dhaulgarh village, three masked miscreants beat a Class 10 student, Prateek, to death with sticks in broad daylight. The incident sent shockwaves through the area. Upon receiving the information, police and FSL teams arrived at the scene; the body was taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem examination. Currently, the police are working to ascertain the motive behind the murder and are searching for the accused.
According to reports, Prateek was returning home on his bike after collecting *prasad* (religious offering). En route, three bike-borne miscreants, who were lying in wait, attacked him.
An eyewitness present at the scene, Dharmpal, stated that three youths with their faces covered were standing near the bridge at Uchana village on an old bike that lacked a number plate. As soon as Prateek passed by, the attackers struck him on the head with a stick. After he fell from the bike, the miscreants dragged him into the fields and began beating him mercilessly with sticks.
Dharmpal mentioned that he tried to save Prateek but could not intervene because the attackers were armed with sticks. After assaulting him for a prolonged period, the accused fled, leaving Prateek in critical condition.
The deceased's grandfather, Dalel Singh, said he was working in the fields when he received news of the incident. He mentioned that he had personally dropped his grandson off at school that morning. Family members rushed him to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead. The family is devastated by this tragedy.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of the Sadar police station stated that a murder case has been registered based on the family's complaint. Multiple police teams are engaged in the search for the accused. Footage from CCTV cameras at the scene and in the surrounding areas is being examined to identify the attackers. The police have assured that the accused will be arrested soon and the motive behind the murder will be revealed.
