Channi faction absent at Punjab incharge Baghels welcome Pratap Bajwa welcomed him separately
Chandigarh:- Former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's faction, which has come out against Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, has distanced itself from Punjab affairs in-charge Bhupesh Baghel. This morning, the Channi faction had held a secret meeting and announced a boycott of the programs to be held under the leadership of Raja Warring. Meanwhile, when Punjab in-charge Bhupesh Baghel reached Chandigarh airport at around 3 pm, the Channi faction did not attend the welcome program led by Raja Warring on Baghel's arrival.
Raja Warring gave a strong welcome to Punjab in-charge Baghel at the airport and on this occasion, Congress workers raised slogans in favor of Raja Warring. Such a big welcome had never been seen for Bhupesh Baghel before. Former MLA Kulbir Singh Zira was also seen at the reception. No leader of the Channi faction was present at the reception. According to important sources, the new President of Youth Congress Shubham Sharma and NSUI President Isharpreet Singh were also absent from the reception of Baghel. Till the evening, the leaders of the Channi faction maintained their distance from Punjab in-charge Baghel.
Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa arrived separately at the airport to welcome Baghel. He welcomed Baghel but kept his distance from Raja Warring. Today, Bhupesh Baghel first reached the house of the Leader of the Opposition Bajwa but Raja Warring was nowhere to be seen on this occasion. Former Minister OP Soni, MLA Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary and former MLA Jeetminder Singh Sidhu etc. were present at Bajwa's house. OP Soni had also reached the Morinda gathering earlier.
Opposition leader Partap Singh Bajwa's political tone today seems to indicate that he is maintaining close ties with the high command and at the same time, he is taking a middle path in the Congress battle by distancing himself from Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. Sources say that Bhupesh Baghel is establishing contact with prominent leaders associated with the Channi faction, but his meeting with any leader has not been scheduled yet.
There is no division in the Congress, we are all together: Warring.
Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today completely denied any factionalism in the Congress and said that the Congress family is united and in the coming days all the leaders will be seen together on one platform. He said that there is no internal division in the Congress and all the leaders are together. Warring said that the Morinda gathering and today's meeting led by Channi were also for the strength of the Congress. The fact that a leader does not speak in these meetings is a great example of discipline in Congress.
