Awareness campaign regarding Elderline Helpline14567 for the welfare of Senior Citizens

Sangrur, July 08:- The Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development, Government of Punjab, is taking special initiatives to ensure the welfare, safety, and dignified life of senior citizens in the state. In line with this, a comprehensive campaign has been launched to raise awareness among the general public, especially the elderly, about the "Punjab Elderline Helpline - 14567."
Providing information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner of Sangrur, Mrs. Poonamdeep Kaur, stated that through this free helpline number 14567, the elderly are provided with legal guidance, information regarding government schemes, counseling (mental support), grievance redressal, and other necessary assistance services.
It has been observed that many senior citizens are still not fully aware of the services provided by this helpline. She mentioned that maximum awareness is being spread at the local level in this regard.
To make this awareness campaign successful, the cooperation of the District Administration, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Urban Local Bodies, block and village-level officials, Senior Citizen Associations, and other Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) is being sought.
She appealed to all citizens and the elderly to contact the toll-free number 14567 without any hesitation for any kind of help or information so that the maximum number of needy elderly people can avail the benefits of this service.
