Avoid Holidays Abroad Weddings Outside India and Unnecessary Gold Purchases Modi

New Delhi:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised the people of the country for the 7.8 per cent GDP growth rate, saying that the achievement was made despite wars, instability and disruptions in supply chains. In a video message on Instagram, the Prime Minister said that if people continued to emphasise indigenous products and self-reliance, the country’s youth would get a developed India in the 100th year of independence.
The Prime Minister also urged people not to spend their holidays abroad, not to hold weddings outside the country or to buy gold without necessity. Modi said, "I want to congratulate the people of the country for the 7.8 per cent GDP growth. This has been possible because of their collective resolve and efforts. Despite conflicts, wars and instability all around, India has achieved this milestone."
The Prime Minister said that there had been no stability anywhere after the COVID pandemic of 2020, but India has progressed well. He said that some people in India were trying to spread negativity and lies, but the country has continued to move forward. He said, "We have to maintain the pace of our development. We have to move forward. And for this, we must become self-reliant. Hard work is needed to fulfil the dreams of the youth. There should be no shortfall in our efforts."
Modi said that the policies of his government are good, its intentions are clear, and this is the reason why the country is touching new heights of progress. Showing resilience despite concerns over an economic slowdown due to the war in West Asia, India’s economy grew at a faster-than-expected rate of 7.8 per cent in the April-June quarter.
In the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate was slightly lower than the 8.6 per cent recorded in the previous quarter, but it remained significantly above expectations at a time when the conflict escalated and energy markets were affected.
