Chandigarh March 22, 2024:- The Department of Life Long Learning and Extension organized an event on the “Martyrdom Day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Ji, Shaheed Sukhdev Ji and Shaheed Rajguru Ji” at 11:30 a.m. on 22.03.2024.  The faculty member, students and staff members  of  Life  Long  Learning  attended  this  event.  Prof. Ajaib Singh and Prof. Sween were Special Invitee for this event.

                        Dr. Parmjit Singh Kang, Chairperson, Department of Life Long Learning & Extension started an event with their Slogan “Inqulaab Zindabad- Inqulaab Zindabad- Inqulaab Zindabad,” and elaborated to the participants the personality of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, his family and educational background.  He narrated an important events of his life i.e. Shahidi of his uncle S. Ajit Singh, Shahidi of Lala Lajpat Rai, killing of John P. Saunders and throwing of bomb on the Central Legislative Assembly etc., his intellectual understanding of history and ideology of Karl Marks. 

                        Dr. Kang informed the participants that Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev was born on 28th September 1907, 24th August 1908 and 15th May 1907 and scarified their lives at the age of 23 years.  He was hanged in the Lahore Central Jail and was clandestinely cremated at Hussainewala, Ferozepur on 23.3.1931.  But their teaching and sacrifice will continue to influence the life of millions in the centuries to come.
