"Nasha Nahi, Nai Raah Chahiye": Dr. Chabbewal declares war against drug abuse in village Bambeli

Hoshiarpur- "The time has come to wipe away the tears of every mother; now there will be a decisive fight against drug abuse" - these were the emotional words of Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha member Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal, who was addressing the villagers during a special public meeting in village Bambeli today.

A large number of villagers, youth, women and elderly were present in this public meeting. Dr. Chabbewal said that drug abuse is hollowing out the roots of our society, pushing the youth towards destruction and swallowing the happiness of families. He stressed that now the time has come for the entire society to stand united against this evil.
Speaking directly to the youth, he said, "Your strength lies in the fields, in books and in hard work - not in any intoxicating bottle or powder." He assured that the youth who want to come out of addiction and start their life afresh will be provided all kinds of help and rehabilitation.
Dr. Chabbewal informed that a special de-addiction campaign is being run in the area, through which people are being made aware with the help of schools, panchayats and social organizations. He said that in collaboration with the administration, those places will be identified where the drug business is going on and they will be completely eradicated.
Dr. Rajkumar Chabbewal also said that the people of Chabbewal assembly constituency are lucky that they have got an aware, passionate and dedicated MLA like Dr. Ishank. He said that Dr. Ishank deeply understands the problem of drug addiction and has full ability to eradicate it from its roots. Dr. Chabbewal expressed confidence that with the tireless efforts of Dr. Ishank and the cooperation of the people, the Chabbewal area will soon become an example by becoming drug free.
On this occasion, the villagers also vowed to stand against drug addiction in one voice. The public meeting concluded with the pledge of “Drug Free Punjab” and the collective slogan: “Punjab will leave drugs, will win the new dream!”
