DC Listens to Industrial Associations; Assures Timely Redressal of Issues

SAS Nagar, July 21: To address the concerns of various Industrial Associations and Focal Points regarding PSIEC and local authorities, a detailed meeting was convened today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal at her office. Representatives from the PSIEC, Industry Department, and different industrial associations participated in the marathon session.

SAS Nagar, July 21: To address the concerns of various Industrial Associations and Focal Points regarding PSIEC and local authorities, a detailed meeting was convened today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal at her office. Representatives from the PSIEC, Industry Department, and different industrial associations participated in the marathon session.
Reassuring the industrial representatives, DC Mittal stated that all issues raised would be taken on priority. Matters that can be resolved at the local level will be addressed promptly, while those requiring state intervention will be forwarded to higher authorities.
Key issues raised by the Derabassi Industry Association including completion of the Derabassi-Barwala Road and the ongoing storm sewer work, Desilting of sewer lines in the Focal Point, Landscaping and maintenance of the ESI Dispensary, Need for storm sewer systems on Focal Point roads that are at a higher level than industrial units.
In response, the Deputy Commissioner informed them that the tender process for the Mubarikpur to Ramgarh road is nearing completion and the work will commence soon. She also assured that the upgradation of the existing ESI Dispensary into a full-fledged hospital is under active consideration, with the MoU between ESI and the State Health Department currently pending approval by ESI’s higher authorities.
The DC also committed to taking up the issue of power line augmentation along Barwala Road and the feeder line with Powercom officials, coordinating with Traffic Police and NHAI to resolve traffic congestion on the service road affected by Bhankharpur Bridge construction. Also assured them of addressing the pending approval of the Udyog Sewa Kendra drawing in Derabassi.
Channalon Focal Point representatives raised concerns related to storm sewer installation and desilting, efficient use of treated water from the STP, need for a dedicated bus stop for female workers and improved garbage collection mechanisms
The DC assured the representatives of Channalon Focal Point that each of these issues will be examined and addressed at the earliest.
Mohali Industry Association representatives called for development of parallel routes to the Airport Road to reduce traffic congestion, tree pruning to prevent disruption of power lines, improved garbage collection and park maintenance and resolution of waterlogging issues.
The Deputy Commissioner informed Mohali Industry Association that road decongestion is already being actively worked on, with the NIPER to Balongi Road stretch and widening of the Phase 1 to Phase 8 city road under consideration. Other civic issues would be forwarded to the Municipal Corporation Mohali for prompt action.
Additionally, the DC directed PSIEC representative Bikramjit Singh to ensure that all issues under the purview of PSIEC are addressed on priority.
