Jalandhar, June 24, 2025- A meeting of Pensioners Welfare Federation Punjab Power Com & Transco was held in Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall Jalandhar under the chairmanship of State President S. Amarjit Singh Baba. In which the Punjab Government and Power Corporation are delaying the payment of arrears of revised pay scales from 01-01-2016 to 30-06-2021.
Due to which there is great disappointment among the pensioners. Releasing the information of the meeting to the press, B.S. Sekhon General Secretary said that the circular issued by the Punjab Government regarding payment of arrears is not being strictly followed. The arrears of pensioners below the age of 75 years are not being made by the field offices nor are they being paid.
Besides this, the Punjab Government is not revising the pension of pensioners who retired before 01-01-2016 in the ratio of 2.59 nor is the deduction of Rs. 200 per month in the name of development tax being stopped. Besides this, the Punjab Government is also not releasing the arrears of dearness allowance on the lines of the Central Government.
Due to which there is great anger among the employees of entire Punjab. The Punjab Government and the Electricity Corporation were warned that if the demands of the pensioners are not resolved on priority basis by holding a meeting, then the employees would be forced to start a struggle at the Punjab level, the responsibility of which will be of the Punjab Government and the Management of the Electricity Corporation.
Amarjit Singh Baba Pradhan, BS Sekhon General Secretary, Vinod Salwan, M.L. were present in the meeting. Kapila, Paramjit Singh Dasua, Rajinder Thakur, Paramjit Singh Jalandhar, Kuldeep Singh Minhas, Kanwar Jaswinderpal Singh, Jagdish Rai, Jagdev Mann, Shivdev Singh, Pavitra Singh, Balveer Singh, Inder Sain, Jarnail Singh, Rajinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, Baldev Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Palwinder Singh, Ram Saran Parashar, Lakhveer Singh etc were present.
