This was said by Sanjeev Arora, President and Head of Rotary Eye Bank and Corneal Transplantation Society. Mr. Arora said that the body of 70-year-old Mata Santosh Bala, resident of Mount Avenue, was donated to Medical College Patiala by her family members Iqbal Singh (husband), Baljinder Singh (son), Rajinder Kaur (daughter-in-law), Dr. Malvinder Singh (son), Gurinder Kaur (daughter-in-law), Anandan Singh, Manmohan Singh (grandson) Gurnam Kaur (granddaughter) through Rotary Eye Bank.
On this occasion, Sanjeev Arora expressed his gratitude to the family and said that this decision of Santosh Bala is an inspiration for the society and in today's time it is a true human service, Mr. Arora said that eye donation and body donation are donations made after death. Awareness in the society is the best source for this. Along with body donation, 25 bodies have also been donated by late Santosh Bala to various medical colleges for medical research.
Because children studying medical science will be successful in increasing the research of human body. Because there is a huge difference between doing research on artificial body and doing research on a person's body. That is why the society is spreading awareness for eye donation and body donation.
On this occasion, Chairman J.B. Bahl and Secretary Veena Chopra saluted the family for this noble work and called it a source of inspiration for the coming generations and said that the society has so far provided light to 4117 people suffering from blindness.
