Hoshiarpur- Police of Thana Mahilpur has received information that a young man ended his life by consuming poisonous substance when his fiancée, who had sent him to Canada by spending Rs 26-27 lakh, did not call him abroad.
According to the information, Thana Pramukh Gagandeep Singh Sekhon said that Kulwinder Singh son of Gurdev Singh resident of Sailan Kalan told the police in his complaint that his elder son Karanveer Singh aged about 24 years was engaged to Navjot Kaur daughter of Balwinder Singh resident of Burj Araiya, Thana Kila Lal Singh, District Batala on 15.05.2022 in Kasba Tanda, District Hoshiarpur.
I had borne all the expenses of this engagement of about 50,000 rupees and this relationship was fixed by Lakhwinder Singh and his wife Bevi resident of Juhra, Thana Bhogpur, District Jalandhar Rural acting as a middleman. He told that Navjot Kaur had done IELT in which she had 6.5 bands, we had a verbal agreement with them that the girl Navjot Kaur will go abroad to Canada and will also take her son Karanveer Singh to Canada.
He told that we had spent about 26-27 lakh rupees in sending the girl Navjot Kaur abroad to Canada. Neither did his son take her abroad nor did they return his money. On which his son started living in a hostel and on the night of 19/20 June he ended his life by consuming some poisonous substance.
Whose son has filed a case against Navjot Kaur daughter of Balwinder Singh, Pabjot Singh son of Balwinder Singh, Balwinder Singh son of Gyan Singh, Rajwinder Kaur wife of Balwinder Singh resident Burj Araiya police station Kila Lal Singh district Batala, Lakhwinder Singh and his wife Bevi and further action has been started.
