Una, June 21- Joint teams of Municipal Corporation Una, District Administration and Police Department on Saturday took action to remove encroachments made on the roadside from ISBT Una to Nagar Palika Bazaar under 'Mission Free-Footpath'. This special drive was launched with the aim of ensuring safe and unhindered movement of the general public, especially school and college students.
Una, June 21- Joint teams of Municipal Corporation Una, District Administration and Police Department on Saturday took action to remove encroachments made on the roadside from ISBT Una to Nagar Palika Bazaar under 'Mission Free-Footpath'. This special drive was launched with the aim of ensuring safe and unhindered movement of the general public, especially school and college students.
Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Una Manoj Kumar informed that during the drive, illegally installed carts, stalls and temporary structures on the footpaths were removed. During this, goods were confiscated from four shopkeepers, while some were let off with a warning.
At the same time, drivers of vehicles parked unauthorizedly on the roadside have also been warned. He clarified that if such a situation is found again in the future, challan and other strict action will be taken.
The Joint Commissioner said that this drive will continue in a phased manner and strict action will be taken against those who violate the rules. He appealed to the citizens to cooperate in this effort of the administration and contribute in making Una city organized, safe and encroachment-free.
On this occasion, SDO Municipal Corporation Una Rajendra Saini and Ankush, SHO City Chowki Una Gurdeep Singh, JE Municipal Corporation Una Shivani Thakur and employees of concerned departments were present.
