
Farmers will be given assistance for direct sowing of paddy - Deputy Commissioner
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, May 12, 2025: As part of the efforts being made by the Punjab Government to improve the declining groundwater level, farmers are being motivated to direct sow paddy. Therefore, the Punjab Government is giving an incentive of Rs. 1500 per acre to the farmers who do direct sowing of paddy during the year 2025-26 as well.
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, May 12, 2025: As part of the efforts being made by the Punjab Government to improve the declining groundwater level, farmers are being motivated to direct sow paddy. Therefore, the Punjab Government is giving an incentive of Rs. 1500 per acre to the farmers who do direct sowing of paddy during the year 2025-26 as well.
This information was given by Mrs. Komal Mittal, Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar while appealing to the farmers for direct sowing of paddy. She said that farmers can give their consent in this regard by registering at the link https://agrisubsidy.agrimachinerypb.com/#/dsr-registration.
Farmers will open the link and fill in their Aadhaar number. After that, the personal and bank details of the farmer will remain as per the registration done in the Grain Procurement, E-Marketing portal. After that, the farmer has to give only the details of his land under direct sowing.
For example, the farmer should give the information of the district/tehsil-sub-tehsil/village/khewat no./khasra no. of the land and the area under direct sowing (kanal/marla/bigha) or biswa. This link is open for farmers from 10th May 2025. The first verification of direct sowing of paddy will be done by visiting the farmers' fields from 01st July 2025 to 15th July 2025.
On this occasion, the Chief Agriculture Officer of the district, Dr. Gurmail Singh appealed to the farmers to take maximum advantage of this opportunity and for more information, farmers can contact the block and district level agriculture and farmers' welfare office.
