
No pregnant woman should be deprived of quality health services: Civil Surgeon
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, May 12: Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain instructed the senior medical officers of the district that no pregnant woman should be deprived of quality health services and necessary care in the government health institutions of the district. She said that pregnant women should be registered as soon as possible and special care should be taken of high-risk pregnant women so that problems arising during delivery can be prevented.

She said that pregnant women should be registered as soon as possible and special care should be taken of high-risk pregnant women so that problems arising during delivery can be prevented.
Dr. Jain said that to reduce maternal mortality rate, it is very important to identify pregnancy problems on time so that their treatment can be started on time. In this way, no problem of any kind will arise during delivery.
The Civil Surgeon said that one of the main objectives of the Health Department is to reduce the maternal mortality rate. He said that if any pregnant woman is found to be high-risk during the first check-up at the health center, such as BP increases, blood pressure is less than 7 grams or height is less than 5 feet, etc., then she should be immediately referred to the district hospital.
Dr. Sangeeta Jain appealed that pregnant women should get their delivery done in government health institutions only. She said that high-level examination, treatment and maternity facilities are being provided to the mother and child in government health institutions of the district.
The free facilities include free examination and medicines, free ultrasound, free food, free transport facility to and from the health institution. Similarly, free treatment facility is provided to the newborn child for one year.
