
Swayam Prabha Awareness Session Organized at PEC Chandigarh
Chandigarh: 01st May, 2025: The Department of Aerospace Engineering, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, successfully organized a Swayam Prabha Awareness Session on April 29, 2025, aimed at creating awareness among faculty members of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering about contributing to the Swayam Prabha DTH educational platform.
Chandigarh: 01st May, 2025: The Department of Aerospace Engineering, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, successfully organized a Swayam Prabha Awareness Session on April 29, 2025, aimed at creating awareness among faculty members of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering about contributing to the Swayam Prabha DTH educational platform. The session was coordinated by Dr. T. K. Jindal, Acting Head of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, along with Dr. Prabhjeet Singh, Assistant Professor in the same department. Distinguished representatives from the Swayam Prabha team at IIT Kanpur, Ms. Madhavi Rai and Mr. Akash Yadav, both Project Executive Officers, delivered insightful presentations on the structure, goals, and opportunities associated with Swayam Prabha. They also guided faculty members on how to offer and manage courses on this national educational platform.
The event saw active participation from faculty members of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC), Ludhiana. Attending in person were Mr. Lakhveer Singh Khana and Dr. Harmeet Singh, Professor and Head, Mechanical Engineering. Joining online were Dr. Sehijpal Singh, Principal of GNDEC Ludhiana, and Dr. Balwinder Singh Sidhu, Director, College Development Council, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRS PTU), Bathinda. From PEC, the following senior faculty members from the Mechanical Engineering Department attended: Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Sarabjit Singh, Dr. Harshit, Dr. Susheel, and Dr. Kamal Kumar.
In addition, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Head of the Department of Aerospace Engineering, PEC, also joined the session virtually. The event concluded with a vibrant interaction and discussion on how faculty from Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering disciplines can contribute high-quality educational content to the Swayam Prabha initiative, thereby extending the reach of technical education across India.
