
Seminar on 'Why are libraries needed in villages'.
Paigam-E-Jagat/Maur Mandi, August 27- A special seminar on 'Why are libraries needed in villages' was organized by the Bharatiya Sahitya Akademi Delhi at Mata Sundari Group of Institutions Halka Maur, village Dhadde. Satish Kumar Verma, presiding over it, said that the Punjab government should establish libraries in villages.
Paigam-E-Jagat/Maur Mandi, August 27- A special seminar on 'Why are libraries needed in villages' was organized by the Bharatiya Sahitya Akademi Delhi at Mata Sundari Group of Institutions Halka Maur, village Dhadde. Satish Kumar Verma, presiding over it, said that the Punjab government should establish libraries in villages.
He further said that libraries should have regular staff. There should be modern facilities, and the facility to order newly printed books as per the demand of the readers. He said that due to the expansion of libraries, brotherhood, national unity and love among each other will expand in Punjab.
Among the main speakers of the event were Prof. Dr. Satnam Singh Jassal, while highlighting the need for libraries in villages, talked about the status of libraries in various states at the national level, the number of books, digital libraries, and expressed serious views on the role of libraries in educational institutions in Punjab and also expressed his views on establishing rural libraries in villages.
Versatile writer and member of the Governing Council of Punjabi Sahit Akademi, Delhi, Buta Singh Chauhan said that if famous books are created by famous people, then books also create famous people. During this seminar, the guests were welcomed by the Principal of the institution, Raj Singh Bagha, and the Director of the institution, Academician Parminder Singh Sidhu, thanked everyone.
The Managing Director of the institution, Gurvinder Singh Balli, Madam Simbaljit Kaur, participated in this event with great enthusiasm. Even though they were on a foreign tour, the Chairman of the institution, Kulwant Singh Dhadde, and Treasurer, Mrs. Parshotam Kaur, also congratulated the success of this event with great enthusiasm.
